Derrick Arquiett is a software engineer / manager with diversified experience with various technology solutions. His passion for technology and learning has provided him with amazing opportunities to work with various complex technical systems in differing support and management roles. While currently working with the Pfizer Digital team, he is responsible for leading large scale agile application development, deployment and support along with the creation of documentation following GMP principles.
Derrick started his career at Pfizer (formerly Wyeth) at Rouses Point, NY where his primary role included laboratory infrastructure and application support. Working with local LIMS, CDS and Investigation Tracking systems provided a solid understanding of quality systems and their interactions throughout the network. This knowledge was leveraged and built upon when he started work as the site business analyst with increasing responsibilities. In this role he was responsible for building and maintaining relationships to ensure team understanding on how a given application would support and benefit a given process. This was in addition to system management where application(s) uptime, deployment and maintaining compliance readiness was ensured. As a member of the technical team Derrick continued to build upon his system(s) knowledge by supporting three manufacturing sites. If it had a computer attached to it, he most likely supported it in one form or another. In 2015 he relocated to the Pfizer, Sanford facility and started working remotely with the Pfizer Digital Agile solution team. While with this team, he successfully managed several deployments that involved cutting edge technologies in artificial intelligence, virtual reality and data analysis reporting. Currently, he is working with the manufacturing and quality solutions team supporting critical enterprise systems and continuing to learn and seek out new challenges.
When not in front of a computer, Derrick enjoys being outdoors, relaxing on the lake, playing ice hockey and spending time with family and friends. He also enjoys any opportunity he gets to help people to get excited about technology. Some examples of this would include hosting computer clubs for high school students, participating in youth coding events and helping his three children and their friends fix and learn from any computer issues they might have.
Derrick holds a Bachelor of Science in Software Development and a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Chemistry.
